Probiotics are live bacteria. Like other living things, they need the right conditions such as temperature and humidity levels to stay alive.

Most reputable companies manufacture their probiotics in highly controlled environments to maintain optimal conditions, but unfortunately not all of them do, especially in regions where the regulations are less stringent.
